WELCOME

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! We are excited about the possibilities of growth for our parent body, T.E.A.M. Parents. To encourage a high level of support and participation, each family is obligated to contribute ten hours of service to our school through T.E.A.M. Parents. As there are a variety of ways to do this and nine months in which to do it, I hope it will have minimal impact on your family.  There are scheduled events and fundraisers and various areas of school service from which you can choose or you may offer any special talents you possess such as office or construction-related skills. Even if you are employed full-time, there are a number of groups that conduct their business at times other than during the work day.  If you choose not to give your fifteen hours, you will be asked to make a $225.00 contribution to go towards T.E.A.M. Parents sponsored events and donations to the school for improvements that are made on behalf of T.E.A.M. Parents.

Fundraising Projects

Last year our fundraising was an outstanding success.  In addition to Spirit Wear, we held a Silent Auction Dinner, a book fair, and evenings at several local restaurants, all of which were very successful.  We plan to expand these activities even further this year!  T.E.A.M. Parents sponsors these activities in order to meet our goals of funding social activities for TCS families and providing physical improvements or major purchases for the school.  Each project requires a Director and in many cases, a number of Associates.

Please note that these fundraising efforts are separate from those sponsored by the school administration. The parents who participate in T.E.A.M. Parents fundraising determine the ways in which this money will be spent.

Hospitality

Any time it would be nice to serve food at a gathering, these are the folks to do it. Parents may choose to help out or to provide food items or paper goods at any of the following events: Meet the Teacher Night, Back to School Night, Talent Show, Preschool Luncheon and Open House. This is a great way to participate if your time is limited and you’re not able to be on campus during the day.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our annual Scholastic Book Fair is a hit with our staff, students and families! Help is needed working at the Book Fair with checking out purchases during the after-school shopping hours and during Open House.

Social Activities

Does an Old Fashioned Family Picnic, a Skate Night, or a Shakey’s Night sound like fun? These are some of the fun activities that T.E.A.M. Parents has sponsored.   We’d love to add to the list!  If you have any ideas or would like to help make these events happen, get in on the ground floor with this fun group.

Staff/Teacher Appreciation

We want to show our staff how very much we appreciate their hard work and the loving care they give our children.  T.E.A.M. Parents focus on the many ways we can say, “Thank you.”  Leaving notes or small gift items in staff in-boxes, celebrating birthdays, and providing a monthly appreciation lunch, and don’t forget Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week. Let your creativity and thankful spirit shine in this fellowship.

TCS Family Carnival

T.E.A.M. Parents organizes a fun-filled, free carnival for our school family and the community. Our goal, other than to have a great time together, is to introduce new families to Trinity. The Director will oversee the planning of several subcommittees involved in this group. Many hands are needed to solicit funds from local businesses, book attractions and purchase food for sale. Join the fun in planning this school tradition! The gift basket silent auction was such a success last year we are going to try it again.

Spirit Wear

Our popular Spirit Wear includes jackets, shirts and sweatshirts decorated with the Trinity logo. The Director works with a local printer to process the orders. The Director and Associates collect donated uniforms from parents and unlabeled uniform pieces abandoned in our Lost-and-Found for re-sale to other Trinity families as well as organize our Used Uniform Swap.

Service Hours Recorder

This Director helps T.E.A.M. Parents keep track of the number of hours each family has contributed to the school.

Thanksgiving Lunch

Each year we hold a school-wide Thanksgiving lunch. The Director will make arrangements with the committee members for preparation of the food, decorating the fellowship hall and serving our grand feast!

Yearbook Committee

The yearbook is a fun place to express your creativity. Come join this great group of people who will design and create the yearbook using pictures taken on campus and at school events throughout the year. The yearbook is a treasure for students and parents alike!

T.E.A.M. Parents Executive Committee

Duties include organizing and facilitating T.E.A.M. Parents meetings and making arrangements for any school-wide meetings, recording minutes and keeping an accurate account of receipts and expenditures. (Directors will maintain contact with their own committee members) The Chairperson also serves as liaison with school administration.
